For The Love of Reading

Children+Bookshow+Labels

Many may know inkREADible as a provider of quality customised labels to the food and drink industry, but we actually provide labels to all industries, one of those being clubs and charities. Collection tin labels, lapel labels and window and car stickers are really popular for this sector and just recently we were approached by The Children’s Bookshow and asked if we could support them in providing some lovely book labels to promote their upcoming theatre performances, of course we were delighted to help.

The Children’s Bookshow

The Children's Bookshow is a charity that inspires school children with a love of reading through an annual programme of theatre performances and in-school workshops with the very best authors and illustrators from around the world.

Although the charity is supported by the Art’s Council, they still rely on donations and support from other organisations and the public. This year British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) have kindly donated 800 copies of a lovely children's book called The Tree by award winning picture book author Neal Layton. Every child attending Neal Layton's event at The Old Vic in London on 20th September will receive their very own signed copy of The Tree thanks to BTO and inkREADible.

More than 90,000 children and their teachers have been to a performance put on by the Children’s Bookshow and they have given away approximately 10,000 free books to children and their schools. They have also organised over 700 free workshops across the country.

Update from The Children’s Bookshow

On the 20th September Neal Layton kicked off this years performances entertaining and inspiring over 870 London primary school children and their teachers for an hour at the historic Old Vic Theatre.

The Children's Bookshow told us how grateful they were for the labels we provided as it meant that each child took home their very own signed copy of the book, The Tree, which is really special for them.

You can read more about the event here.

Here are some words from Blue Gate Fields Junior School who found the event truly inspirational.

And here is what one parent had to say:

"My children and I truly loved it! It was so lovely, very inspirational, and a perfect mix of messages about books, art, self-expression and a the ever so important environmental awareness. We watched the news in the evening, and seeing the footage from the climate change protests from around the world really put Neal's words into context for the children. Over the weekend, my son made his own "Earth flag like Neal had" and my daughter made a little book with illustrations, and "stapled it together just like Neal when he was in Year 2". Thank you very much for making all this inspiration possible for us, Neal is a perfect role model, we are big fans!"
