Cut The Wrap

Cut The Wrap BIodegradable Labels

As a well respected label printing company we are fully aware of our responsibility to the environment and try to reduce waste as much as we can.

New biodegradable materials

We have also embraced new materials coming to market and are now able to provide a range of biodegradable papers, some being industrially compostable too. This side of our business has really taken off with more and more of our customers turning to biodegradable paper alternatives, as they also join the fight against unnecessary waste.

Now there is a new customer on the block, one who has gone one step further…

When we were approached by The World's Most Rubbish to provide a quotation for biodegradable labels, of course we were delighted to help. We soon found out that the labels they wanted weren’t just to be biodegradable, they were also going to actively promote the reduction of waste through their #CutTheWrap campaign. #CutTheWrap is an initiative by The World's Most Rubbish, a global community of consumers, creators & brands on a mission to make single-use a thing of the past.

Although gift wrap is made to be thrown away, most of it will not even get recycled so #CutTheWrap are encouraging everyone to go naked this year!

Of course, what they mean is to not gift wrap your gifts this year at all. By doing less, you are actually doing more - for the environment.

Getting the message across

Cut The Wrap Campaign

The biodegradable labels we were asked to print have been created to help get the message across and can be used to explain why a gift has not been wrapped. #CutTheWrap are offering these biodegradable stickers free, visit the website Cut-the-Wrap.com you can find out where you can collect these from in central London. They are also partnering with local businesses, so their customers will be able to grab some free stickers too, all locations will be made available on their website soon.

If you still really want to still wrap your presents, then you could be a little more creative. The website has a whole section on different ways you can still provide the mystery but without the wrapping paper.

Andy Hewitt from The World's Most Rubbish added “We’re all looking for ways to make a positive impact on the planet, and we found a very easy one: ditching gift wrap. Wrapping paper is made to be thrown away and most can’t be recycled. This festive season, we’re taking a stand and launching #CutTheWrap. Your help would really make a difference.”

So this Christmas let your friends and family know you don’t want your gifts wrapped (and you won’t be wrapping theirs either!) and stick a #CutTheWrap sticker on it instead!
