What are private label brands?
Private labelled products are brands owned not by a manufacturer or producer but by a retailer or supplier who gets its goods made by a contract manufacturer under its own label. Also called private brand or phantom brand.

Generally, there are three main manufacturers classifications who produce private label products:

Small to medium size manufacturers who specialise in certain products and almost exclusively produce for private label brands.
Major retailers and wholesalers operating their own manufacturing of private label products for their own stores.
