How can you bring your labels to life?

The answer to this is very simple – use hot foils!

The answer to this is very simple – use hot foils!

What is hot foil printing?

The hot foil printing process can be combined with a digital process and will give a true metallic effect that digital printing alone cannot give.

Hot foil printing is a speciality printing process that uses heat, pressure, metal dies and foil film. The foil comes in rolls in a wide variety of colours, finishes and effects.

This printing method is similar to letterpress and engraving, in that the colour is applied to paper with pressure.  Once the design is finalized, metal dies are created in the appropriate shape for each individual colour foil to be applied for a particular design.  The dies are heated and then stamped with enough pressure to seal a thin layer of foil to the paper, and each colour is applied individually through multiple runs of the press to create the final design.  A final die may also be created if an embossed (raised) image or effect is desired for the design.

What our customers say

We recently printed a new design of label for our long standing customer Compton Green Vineyard.  The owner Alan Oastler was very fastidious, and rightfully so!  He wanted to ensure that his bottles jump off the shelf to help his product sell to people who hadn’t yet tried his lovingly produced wine.  The artwork was very carefully prepared, a lovely modern design, giving a fresh feel and here it is on the bottle with a hot foil:

As you can see the whole label has been brought to life and Alan is delighted with it saying:

‘We have always been happy with the good quality labels inkREADible produced but we wanted something a little more special with our new modern labels for our Estate Special Reserve.  These new labels will really help our product stand out on the shelves.’

And our new customer Rogers Own have been equally impressed.  Speaking to Roger last week who had just taken delivery of his new labels, he also wanted something a little more eye catching and chose the hot foil process. Roger explained:

‘Several customers had been most complimentary about my hand made jams, marmalades and relishes, stating that the eating quality was second to none BUT my labelling was letting me down as it did not match the product.

I needed to upgrade the visual appearance so I asked my designer to create a new image - Cornish top of the range.  With the help and advice from inkREADible, I believe we have collectively achieved this.

I now have a product range suitably labelled which shouts ‘BUY ME I AM THE BEST!!’
